Errors and Omissions: This is a working index and may contain errors and omissions due to errors in the preparation of the original document or in the indexing. Since January 1, 2004 all documents recorded will only be found in the computer tract index. The manual tract index is no longer updated, but is considered the Official Tract Index up to December 31, 2003. It is recommended that you search several different ways for each property, such as by grantor-grantor (party name), legal description and by PIN (Parcel Identification Number) (Note: Not all documents come to us with a parcel number. Only transfer documents recorded since January 1, 2005 are indexed by the PIN number.)
On Laredo you can access: Grantor/Grantee index as well as Legal Description index and scanned images from November 1987 to present. Manual tract indexes are available for research at our office from the late 1800’s through December 31, 2003. As of January 1, 2004, the tract indexes are available only on the computer.
Images: The images are authentic reproductions of the actual document and the quality is usually good. However, certain colored inks on original documents do not reproduce well.
Index and Verification dates: The general rule is that the grantor/grantee (party) index and tract index are available 2-3 working days after being recorded as shown on the bottom of the Laredo screen. The verification date is the last verified date and is also shown on the bottom of the Laredo screen. Note: the index date and verified date will fluctuate with the volume of documents recorded.
