Access to Real Estate Records in Pope County, Minnesota

Three Options:

1.  Information Request

Staff will assist in obtaining copies of specific documents known, such as a plat map, book and page or document number, no matter the timeline.  General information of ownership – recent transfers, satisfaction of mortgages will be researched back one year.  Research back beyond one year, will need to be completed by one of the methods listed below, or by requesting a Tract Inventory or Abstract of Title update from a private abstract company.  There is a $5.00 fax fee for information returned, plus .25 per page copy fee.  For greater accuracy, whenever written documents are available, copies will be faxed rather than information given verbally over the telephone.  A billing will accompany all information returned.  E-mail your request to Recorders.  A reply for information requested will be made by the end of the following business day unless requested otherwise.

Tapestry is an Internet access program designed for the occasional user working in a real estate-related business. If you do not have a good real estate background, you are best advised to visit the office of your local Recorder/Registrar of Titles and get assistance to locate your documents.
