The Assessor oversees the valuation and classification of all real property in Pope County. The Assessor also appraises and classifies certain personal property for ad valorem property tax.
The County Attorney is elected by the people of Pope County for a four-year term. The primary responsibility of the County Attorney is to prosecute all major crimes for the State that occur in Pope County. This office also prosecutes lesser crimes in the County that occur outside of the city limits of cities within Pope County.
The County Auditor-Treasurer is one of four County officials to be elected by Pope County voters every four years. The Auditor and Treasurers’ offices were combined in January 1994. Although this office is combined, some duties still remain specific to the individual departments. The Data Processing Department is integrated into this office with responsibility for the coordination/operation of the AS400 computer. Minnesota Statutes govern the duties of the Auditor-Treasurer’s office.
The Pope County Board of Commissioners is the County’s primary legislative policymaking body and are responsible for overseeing the County’s management and administration, representing County interests at the state and federal level, participating in long-range planning, and managing the County budget and finances.
The County Coordinator is the chief administrative officer of Pope County, and is responsible for the proper administration of the business matters of the County as directed by the County Board of Commissioners.

This district court has original jurisdiction in all civil, family, probate, juvenile, criminal, and traffic cases filed in Pope County. This court is part of the Eighth Judicial District.
The Pope County Drainage Authority is responsible for the inspection, maintenance and administration of all public ditches within Pope County. The are currently 14 County Ditches and 4 Judicial Ditches within Pope County.
Pope County Emergency Management is responsible for all emergency management related activities including preparing for, mitigating, responding to, and recovering from disasters.

The Pope County Building Maintenance Department’s main purpose is to keep buildings, properties, and grounds owned by the county in safe, clean and orderly condition.
The Highway Department is responsible for the maintenance & construction of all county roads and bridges. The Department currently has 17 employees responsible for 370 miles of roadways and 64 bridges.
The Pope County Human Resources Department exists to serve the employees of Pope County. We are committed to providing a positive and healthy work environment and strive to prepare and educate our employees so they are able to provide top-notch services to the residents of Pope County.
The Human Services department is responsible for administration of many programs in the areas of Public Assistance, Child Support Collection and Enforcement, Child and Adult Protection, Long Term Care Consultation, Child and Foster Care Licensing, Child Care Assistance Program, Services for persons with Developmental Disabilities/Related Conditions, Mental Illness, Other Disabilities and Chemical Dependency.
The Information Technology departments serves as the county contact for all technology related needs and concerns for the Pope County Board of Commissioners and staff.
Pope County Land and Resource Management is charged with administering land use policies and environmental programs in conformance with local ordinances, state statutes and federal laws. Policies and programs administered include: planning and zoning, community development, floodplain development (NFIP), solid waste management, water management planning activities, feedlot facilities, terrestrial invasive (weeds and pests), aquatic invasive species, riparian protection, subsurface septic treatment systems (SSTS), stormwater and erosion control, and the construction permitting program.

Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 244.19 Pope County Probation provides probation services to all juvenile offenders, as well as all adult misdemeanant and gross misdemeanant Offenders placed on probation by the Court. In addition to probation supervision services, the department also provides pre-trial services and various programs.
Horizon Public Health is a fully integrated local public health organization that serves the residents and communities in Douglas, Grant, Pope, Stevens and Traverse Counties. With offices located in all five counties, you will find the staff of approximately 85 individuals out in your community working with local individuals, community partners, community events, and community organizations who share a goal of promoting and improving health for all.
The Pope County Recorder's Office / Registrar of Titles is the legal custodian of all land records affecting real property and provides protection and public notice of that information by recording, indexing and maintaining those records. The Registrar of Titles issues land title certificates on Torrens Property.
Coordinates the assignment of new addresses and performs maintenance on the E-911 systems. Assignment and naming of new roads to the county mapping system.
