The deadline for applications has passed as of Friday, February 5 at 4:30pm. The Pope County Board of Commissioners awarded this round of funding on February 16, 2021, and notification letters to applicants and award payments will follow shortly thereafter.
On February 16, 2021, the Pope County Board of Commissioners adopted the recommendations of the Pope County HRA-EDA Board, and awarded over $250,000 in funding to business and non-profit applicants to the Pope County Business Relief Program.
Award payments were made based on the number of qualified applicants and available funding. Under the program criteria, qualified applicants were eligible to receive a maximum of $9,780.12 each, and awards to each qualified applicant varied based on each applicant's demonstrated expenses and quarterly losses.
Funding was provided through the State of Minnesota and is intended to reimburse local businesses and non-profits for expenses attributable to the COVID-19 pandemic and response incurred in late 2020. Applications were solicited from Pope County businesses and non-profits through Friday, February 5, 2021 to request a portion of the available program funding.
The Pope County Business Relief program was the second time during the COVID-19 pandemic that Pope County has provided an opportunity for community business and non-profit grants. In 2020, Pope County previously offered over $600,000 in local funding through its CARES Act allocation. Between the two rounds of funding, over $850,000 has been distributed in business and non-profit aid through the County since the pandemic's start.
The deadline for applications has passed as of Friday, February 5 at 4:30pm. The Pope County Board of Commissioners awarded this round of funding on February 16, 2021, and notification letters to applicants and award payments followed shortly thereafter.
